Cutting Thickness Range
Thin to medium metal plates.
Typical cutting capacity: 1mm – 25mm (0.04” – 1”).
Can extend up to 38mm (1.5”) with higher amperage systems.
Cutting Current (Amperage)
Standard: 20A – 100A.
Heavy-duty: up to 200A for thicker metals.
Cutting Speed
High speed on thin sheets (5–10 times faster than oxy-fuel for ≤12mm steel).
Speed decreases as plate thickness increases.
Cutting Accuracy & Tolerance
Dimensional tolerance: approx. ±1.0 – 1.5 mm.
Edge squareness: 3°–5° bevel angle (not as precise as HD plasma).
Kerf Width (Cut Width)
Typically 1.5 mm – 3 mm, depending on torch size and material thickness.
Edge Quality
May produce slight dross on the bottom edge.
Edge smoothness less refined compared to high-definition plasma.
Gases Used
Compressed Air (most common).
Sometimes Nitrogen or Argon-Hydrogen for better quality cuts on stainless steel and aluminum.
Compatible Materials
Mild Steel
Stainless Steel
Aluminum
Copper & Brass (limited)
